We are located in Chico, CA. The hot season lasts for 3.5 months, from June 7 to September 22, with an average daily high temperature above 88°F. The hottest day of the year is July 18, with an average high of 96°F and low of 67°F. When we race young birds in October and old birds in April/May these birds are flying in some pretty warm to hot weather on race day in getting themselves back to the loft. We breed from the birds that are consistently on the top of the race sheet and place well in tough races. Being a nutritionist I understand the importance of giving the birds the highest quality and variety of feed, seeds, grain, minerals, mixed grit, fresh greens, and supplements. My friend in the sport always says, "healthy birds win races".
We fly small race teams, starting the season with around 30 to 35 birds to send to an A and B race each week on the schedule. Over the course of time we have chosen our breeders from those that placed well during young bird racing and continue to do well in old birds too. These birds have proven themselves as being tough, reliable, fast race birds and usually will produce offspring of the same quality. We have won several club and combine races, Average Speed and Club and Combine Champion Bird and Champion Loft.
Enclosed are some pictures of some of our winners and their wins, which can be verified through the American Racing Pigeon Union National Data Base.
